Prof. Hammadi Bouslous

Professor Hammadi Bouslous (January 1, 1952 - June 2, 2023) was born in Demnat, a city located at the foot of the high Atlas Mountains in Morocco. Hammadi Bouslous graduated from high school between Demnat and Marrakesh. His academic journey began at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia of Marrakesh (FSSM), Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco. He defended his PhD at the Univeristy of Pau in France. After that, he served as a Full Professor at the Department of Mathematics and a researcher at the Laboratory of Mathematics and Populations Dynamic at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia.

Throughout his life, Bouslous's intellectual pursuits extended beyond mathematics, as he cultivated a deep appreciation for diverse cultural interests such as physics and biology. He was also an outstanding coach in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Besides, he was a talented goalkeeper in his youth and a sporty man obsessed with hiking. At the age of 69, he reached the summit of Toubkal, the highest peak in Morocco.

As an eminent Professor of mathematics and distinguished mathematician in Systems Theory, Professor Hammadi Bouslous left an indelible mark on the field of Control and Systems through his profound expertise and successful mentoring. Throughout his illustrious career, he opened the doors to various research mathematical domains in Morocco, including control, feedback stabilization, positivity, and numerical analysis of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). ...

Hammadi Bouslous's impact on the field can be observed in his pioneering work that built up a large research team in Morocco, contributing to various aspects of systems theory. He is the Founder of the control theory team of Marrakesh TACSI: Team of Analysis and Control of Systems and Interactions, which is now enlarged to several cities in Morocco. Hammadi Bouslous's wise mentorship served as an enduring pillar of knowledge, embodying his deep insights and innovative approaches. By dedicating these few words to his memory, we aim to honor his contributions and perpetuate his legacy, ensuring that his invaluable work continues to inspire and guide future researchers in systems theory and more generally in mathematics.
